Nami
Matchup Summary
Nami is a very easy match up, as she lacks any noteable resistance against Renekton's trading patterns. The main aspect of this match up to consider, is being able to avoid her Q. If Renekton can avoid her Q, he can easily stay on top of her with his dashes, allowing him to nuke Nami in 1 or 2 combos. Once Nami is level 6, be careful about tower diving her with it up, as she can CC off her R knock up with Q, resulting in an embarassing death. Within the mid game, once again respect the R, as she can cancel your E altogether if she hits you, so keep that in mind and you will have 0 issues against her.

Level 1 E Start - Try To Cheese PTA Proc or Conq With E1 > 3 Auto's > Disengage With E2.

Play For Level 2/3 Kill Angle - Once you chunk out Nami you're most likely able to kill her with your W, Dash or Flash up. Look to shove the wave around your kill timer, so you're able to make Nami lose a lot more.

Abuse Renekton's Early Game - In this match up Renekton is essentially able to do whatever he simply wants. With that said, really hone into your strong early to mid game strengths to help you dominate and win the game. Play to deny your enemy of gold and xp, play to proxy and generally lead any top side skirmishes with your insane lane advantage.

Avoid Nami's Q - Probably the most feared ability within the whole game, at least for Nami if she misses her Q. Nami’s only real chance to stop Renekton from perma killing her is using her Q , in which if she misses her Q she’s most likely dead to Renekton 9/10 times. When dashing in towards Nami, make sure to always side step her Q animation right after, as this provides you the ability to use E2 or unload the rest of your damage onto her.

Play Waves Accordingly - Simply assess whether or not you want to play for freeze, to help you deny XP and CS, while presenting yourself more opportunities to create fights. Or, play to shove waves to create proxy angles, tempo resets or create a dive opportunity. Renekton has all the cards to do whatever he wants with wave management. Also respect that if your laner tries to proxy, simply proxy back or coordinate a kill on them with your jungler.

Heavy Trades - Being that Renekton carries a lot of high damage, Renekton is able to just jump on his target nearly at will. Whenever your laners present you with the ability to jump on them, simply take the opportunity to burst them as much as you can. If you didn't kill them already from that, use your options of freezing or your tower diving ability to help you finish off your opponent.

Respect Nami's R - Nami’s R can be a pretty good disruption based ability if used right, however most of the time Nami’s will either use their R super far back, or use it right in the beginning to lose out on the total value. Overall, Nami’s only usage to counter Renekton with her R, is if Renekton’s E gets cancelled amidst using it. With that said, make sure to avoid getting your E cancelled by R, or hold onto it until the cast is finished.

Build Eclipse, Stridebreaker or Profane - Go Eclipse for consistent power through mid game and damage mitigation with the shield. / Go Stridebreaker to cripple Nami’s mobility and provide teammates with additional utility. / Go Profane for full damage focused playstyles.

Mid Game + Teamfighting Tips - Nami’s main identity is her ability to play around her main carries, using her defensive and offensive utility based abilities to help them DPS and outsustain within the fight. Nami doesn’t offer any resistance against Renekton, outside of her ability to potentially save her carries with her Q and R. As Renekton, we simply want to ignore Nami, while playing with the intent to nuke her main carries, outside of dodging her potential Q stun. If Nami ever lands the Q, it can basically decide our fate within teamfights, as her lockdown on top of anyone else’s can be a death sentence. As long as you’re able to avoid her Q, she simply can’t do anything herself to stop Renekton from doing what he wants.
