Matchup Summary
Renekton brute force strength and general control, allows him to completely dominate this match up if he plays it optimally. When playing vs Briar, try not to take long trades into her passive and general ability up times as her damage is stronger pre 6. When you have your abilties, use short trades to burst her down and disengage with your dashes. Rushing Executioner's is vital to lowering her overall healing, allowing you to completely stat check and beat her with ease. Briar cannot really do much once Renekton is ahead, however try to avoid walking into her R or fighting around multiple people with her R aiming at you. Briar R allows her to enhance her ability to beat Renekton in fights, as well as giving her teammates the damage needed to shut her down. Try to also ping Briar's R when your teammates are overextending, as this allows you to deny your teammates throwing over their leads to Briar.

Respect Her Early Power - Briar's Strength's come from long trades and being able to utilize her W, once she W she will stat check any longer than necessary trades. Best thing to do is if she starts W, you can start W to quickly proc your damage then walk away from the fight. By Level 3, try to go for fast combos and disengage before the fight goes long.

Play For Level 2/3 Kill Angle - Once you chunk out Briar you're most likely able to kill her with your W, Dash or Flash up. Look to shove the wave around your kill timer, so you're able to make Briar lose a lot more.

Respect Her Passive - Briar's surprising amount of damage also comes from her bleed passive, which can stack up to 9x while also providing her additional healing the more stacks she has onto you. The gameplan is to maintain short trades and prevent her from being able to heal against you. Buy Executioners if you need, or try to play for short trades and respect her power.

Respect Her E - Her E is the only basic ability that can really leverage her winning the fight into Renekton. Briar can either start the fight with E if Renekton engages with E, or she can use it towards the middle or end of her combo to end her W. Her E provides damage reduction, so if you're able to hold off any additional damage until she uses it, you will end up saving your abilities to burst her down right after, or before she uses the ability. Also make sure not to stand near walls so she deals less damage.

Quick Trades - E > Q > AA > W > AA > E Out / E > Q > W > E / E Q E - These combos allow for Renekton to get quick damage off in being able to keep health up and whittling his opponent down, use these to get your laner low and look for a low HP kill with flash.

Play Wave On Your Side - Playing the wave on your side essentially means playing wave states on your side of the map, via abusing wave manipulation tactics or freezing on your side of the map. Simply use this to help you combo on your laner, taking away any space from them being able to trade you back (This also helps prevent the enemy running you down with their extended or sustained movement speed abilities). You can also use this wave state to run down your opponent with your abilities up, helping you obtain kills a lot easier vs stalemate or ranged match ups. Look to do this when your opponents are below 50% HP, or potentially make a mistake to provide you an all in opportunity to run them down.

Avoid Briar R - Her R is the biggest tool in being able to completely BS a fight. If you get hit by R, her abilities and stats are amplified, allowing her to win most 1v1s in the entire game. Avoid being hit by R at all times, make sure to also use your E to avoid it and make sure you're constantly looking around yourself.

Abuse Renekton's R Powerspike - Once you reach level 6 your ultimate will essentially help you consistently stat check and dominate any match ups you were winning or losing. Make sure to always wait for your R CD to help you make plays, otherwise it will lead you towards a major disadvantage in dueling your enemies.

Build Executioners, Eclipse, Black Cleaver or BoTRK - Go Executioners to lower Briar's overall healing power / Go Eclipse for consistent power through mid game and damage mitigation with the shield. / Go Black Cleaver for additional CDR and other versatile stats for utility based gameplay. / Go BoTRK to one shot and snowball with a damage focused build.

Mid Game + Teamfighting Tips - At this stage you're most likely able to side lane vs her and kill her at will. Make sure to take the right fights, don't get caught by her R or her team's rotations, as her lockdown can be crazy in combination with her teammates. Within teamfights try to avoid her R at all costs, even if one of your teammates gets hit by it, that can severely damage your chances of winning a team fight. The way to play these stages of the game, is try to bait her R to where she misses it, then follow up with a more committed teamfight where she has no R. In terms of navigating the fight, try to one shot her first if she's trying to jump on your team. Once she is out of the way you can play front to back more effectively and win vs her team.
