Matchup Summary

Jinx is another free style match up for Renekton, as her weak and helpess solo early game allows her to easily be a killable target. Jinx's only threat within the game is using her gold to help scale her into major items, however when laning vs Renekton that's practically an impossible objective. Each time Renekton has the wave on his side, Renekton can force kill trades with his double dash, allowing him to get in range and slightly avoid Jinx's traps. Make sure you or your teammates avoid recalling when you're low, as Jinx's R can easily pick up kills to help her funnel gold within the game.

Detailed Tips

  1. 01

    Level 1 E Start - Try to cheese PTA proc or Conq with E1 > 3 auto's > disengage with E2.

  2. 02

Play For Level 2/3 Kill Angle - Once you chunk out Jinx you're most likely able to kill her with your W, Dash or Flash up. Look to shove the wave around your kill timer, so you're able to make Jinx lose a lot more.

  3. 03

Abuse Renekton's Early Game - In this match up Renekton is essentially able to do whatever he simply wants. With that said, really hone into your strong early to mid game strengths to help you dominate and win the game. Play to deny your enemy of gold and xp, play to proxy and generally lead any top side skirmishes with your insane lane advantage.

  4. 04

Respect Jinx's Poke - Jinx’s early game poke can definitely hurt if you’re tanking it consistently, as her minigun can provide decent DPS, as well as her rockets to poke you out from range. While it isn’t massive damage you can still go D Shield and Second Wind to prevent Jinx from doing absolutely anything.

  5. 05

Avoid Jinx E - Jinx E is a very annoying ability as Renekton, as she can instantly cancel your E ability distance and potential E2 cast. However, when fighting Jinx Renekton has a 0.5 second before he traps effectively work vs his E, so he can use it within this frame to avoid being CC’d and having his E cancelled. Play around this optimally to ensure you never get your E cancelled.

  6. 06

Play Wave On Your Side - Playing the wave on your side essentially means playing wave states on your side of the map, via abusing wave manipulation tactics or freezing on your side of the map. Simply use this to help you combo on your laner, taking away any space from them being able to trade you back (This also helps prevent the enemy running you down with their extended or sustained movement speed abilities). You can also use this wave state to run down your opponent with your abilities up, helping you obtain kills a lot easier vs stalemate or ranged match ups. Look to do this when your opponents are below 50% HP, or potentially make a mistake to provide you an all in opportunity to run them down.

  7. 07

Heavy Trades - Being that Renekton carries a lot of high damage, Renekton is able to just jump on his target nearly at will. Whenever your laners present you with the ability to jump on them, simply take the opportunity to burst them as much as you can. If you didn't kill them already from that, use your options of freezing or your tower diving ability to help you finish off your opponent.

  8. 08

Avoid Jinx R - Just like most other cross map abilities, Jinx R is definitely to be feared as it can easily provide her the gold necessary to easily start snowballing against your team on the map. Recall with caution and make sure not to die while buying items.

  9. 09

Build Eclipse, Stridebreaker or Profane - Go Eclipse for consistent power through mid game and damage mitigation with the shield. / Go Stridebreaker to cripple Jinx’s mobility and provide teammates with additional utility. / Go Profane for full damage focused playstyles.

  10. 10

Mid Game + Teamfighting Tips - Jinx’s overall role within the late game is trying to dish out as much damage as she can, utilising her high attack speed playstyle with the intention of playing off resets and using her range and high movement speed to keep her at bay. While this would be a problem if she was bot lane, if she is played as a laner into Renekton, she most likely will be a lot more useless than she normally would be. Regardless, as Renekton we always want to play with the intent of shutting her down hard, while using our lead to snowball the map through securing objectives and destroying enemy towers. We can also pretty much kill her at will if she is solo within the side lane, so make sure to abuse Jinx’s very weak stats and avoid fighting vs multiple of her teammates. Within teamfights, Renekton’s overall job is to try and nuke Jinx as fast as he can, as even with 1 kill Jinx can completely pop off within a fight. With that said, make sure to either jump on Jinx with a good timed engage, or try to assassinate her or her teammates before any major objectives spawn.
