Morgana
Matchup Summary
Morgana is a very boring match up, as it relies on her own stupidity if she walks up into our E range, in order for us to dash in and look for the fights we want. Typically we want to play our fury around 30, as we can double dash in to get our 50 Fury, allowing us to empowered W her and destroy her shield, creating the opportunity to lock her down and apply her damage. Most of our efforts of getting kills are when she is over extended, or if we try to fight level 1 with E start, into a W level 2 kill. Later on we need to play around our other win conditions within the game, in order to make sure we abuse our own strength and escape the torture of boredom in this match up.
Detailed Tips

Level 1 E Start - Try to cheese PTA proc or Conq with E1 > 3 auto's > disengage with E2.

Play For Level 2/3 Kill Angle - Once you chunk out Morgana you're most likely able to kill him with your W, Dash or Flash up. Look to shove the wave around your kill timer, so you're able to make Morgana lose a lot more.

Avoid Morgana Q - Morgana’s Q is an absolutely horrible ability to get hit by, hence why we need to do everything we can to avoid being hit by her Q as much as possible. Using side to side movements when walking towards her, or using your E to dodge her Q’s is absolutely essential. If she misses Q, Renekton can always look to heavy trade with an empowered W, making it a core component to playing around within the match up. When trying to engage on Morgana, try to also E then click to the side to side step, or look to double dash behind her, as these can help bait out the Q and look for opportunities for fights.

Respect Morgana Waveclear - Morgana’s waveclear is pretty great after all the recent buffs towards her wave clear, on top of her mana costs being non-existent after lost chapter in solo lane. Morgana’s W allows her to consistently push the wave out on top of her burn items, allowing her to always stall the lane state and easily wave clear with safety. Use this as caution as roaming can heavily punish you with how easy she can wave clear, try to look for a proxy attempt if you want to cheat tempo vs Morgana’s tactics.

Play Waves Accordingly - Simply assess whether or not you want to play for freeze, to help you deny XP and CS, while presenting yourself more opportunities to create fights. Or, play to shove waves to create proxy angles, tempo resets or create a dive opportunity. Renekton has all the cards to do whatever he wants with wave management. Also respect that if your laner tries to proxy, simply proxy back or coordinate a kill on them with your jungler.

Quick Trades - E > Q > AA > W > AA > E Out / E > Q > W > E / E Q E - These combos allow for Renekton to get quick damage off in being able to keep health up and whittling his opponent down, use these to get your laner low and look for a low HP kill with flash.

Rush Mercury Treads - Mercury Treads are pretty essential vs Morgana to avoid her high CC playstyle, on top of having the mobility and MR to help you deal with her damage. Once you get Mercury Treads, you can look to do more trades against Morgana as you’re able to withstand her damage.

Abuse Renekton W Shield Break - Renekton’s W can shield break through Morgana’s magic damage shield, allowing you to stun her and punish her shield within trades or teamfights. When trading vs Morgana, we can time our W stun on top of her when she stuns us with her Q, allowing to further increase our trading and fighting potential on top of having Mercury Treads. Make sure to prioritise breaking her shield instantly if she uses it on herself or another target, as this allows us to easily focus down and kill our targets.

Respect Morgana’s R - Morgana’s R is a deadly tool to allow her to chain an AoE stun, or allow her to chain her CC in combination with her Q. This can be absolutely horrible to tank if Morgana gets her CC off, so make sure to avoid her Q at all costs and if you can, try to use your dashes to quickly escape her R if possible. Avoiding her R once she uses it is hard, but repositioning or using your flash can potentially save you when dealing with her ultimate.

Build Eclipse, Stridebreaker or BoTRK - Build Eclipse, Stridebreaker or BoTRK Go Eclipse for consistent power through mid game and damage mitigation with the shield. / Go Stridebreaker to cripple Morgana's mobility and provide teammates with additional utility. / Go BoTRK to one shot and snowball with a damage focused build.

Mid Game + Teamfighting Tips - Within the mid game, Morgana’s overall role serves as a utility mage looking to use her Q or R to make picks or provide her the CC to win the teamfights. As Renekton, we must avoid Morgana’s pick potential at all costs, otherwise she can easily lock down her opponents and secure high priority towards objectives or tower pushing scenarios. Play around your wards to prevent her fog of war picks, while trying to also play away from her overall CC in fights. Within teamfights, try to build more tankier so you’re able to survive Morgana’s attempts at CC locking you, on top of providing your teammates a distraction by jumping onto their back line carries. When playing fights, try to use empowered W on Morgana’s W target, as you can easily CC and deal damage through the target, allowing you to instantly remove her peel access.
