Detailed Tips

1. 01

   Avoid Nunu’s W Cheese - Nunu’s only real cheese that can catch us off guard and potentially chunk us out, is Nunu’s level 1 cheese. Nunu will simply roll his ball level 1 out of fog of war, charging up his overall damage and snowball size to help him one shot the wave and hit his laner in the process. Nunu will constantly do this the whole laning phase to bypass fighting his laner, so make sure to punish Nunu with our dash combos right after he misses his snowball. Try to avoid also being hit by his W, as it hits like a truck at most stages with the game.

   Level 1 E Start - Try to cheese PTA proc or Conq with E1 > 3 auto's > disengage with E2.

   Play For Level 2/3 Kill Angle - Once you chunk out Nunu you're most likely able to kill him with your W, Dash or Flash up. Look to shove the wave around your kill timer, so you're able to make Nunu lose a lot more.

   Ping Nunu Roams - Nunu’s only real advantage over Renekton, is simply not laning against Renekton at all. Nunu’s gameplan simply consists of prioritising ganking other lanes with his W, helping him snowball darkseal or mejai’s stacks, on top of getting his teammates ahead with his high movement speed playstyle. Renekton cannot really contest Nunu’s gank timers, however Renekton can easily wave clear with ease allowing him to easily punish Nunu’s roams in the process.

   Abuse Renekton's Early Game - In this match up Renekton is essentially able to do whatever he simply wants. With that said, really hone into your strong early to mid game strengths to help you dominate and win the game. Play to deny your enemy of gold and xp, play to proxy and generally lead any top side skirmishes with your insane lane advantage.

   Abuse Renekton's Waveclear - A giant advantage Renekton has within this match up, is his overall ability to easily clear minion waves. This can help him achieve perfect tempo resets, or allow him to proxy waves to help increase his gold lead, while also hostaging the enemy top laner under their own tower. Being able to fast clear also forces the enemy into contesting push, allowing you to easily mana burn and create advantageous positions from it. Abuse this strength to cheat out bad laning situations, or increase your overall power within the game.

7. 07

   Heavy Trades - Being that Renekton carries a lot of high damage, Renekton is able to just jump on his target nearly at will. Whenever your laners present you with the ability to jump on them, simply take the opportunity to burst them as much as you can. If you didn't kill them already from that, use your options of freezing or your tower diving ability to help you finish off your opponent.

   Respect Nunu R - Nunu’s only other potential advantage is being able to cheese fog of war, abusing it to use his R to one shot people off guard. Nunu is a very crafty champion, however being that he is so linear, it’s very important to play around these strengths to make him a useless pick. Try to consistently ward territories within the river bushes, or use red trinkets when walking through bushes, to spot Nunu and allow yourself to E before his R goes off. When walking towards an unwarded bush pay attention towards your movement speed, as if you’re losing movement speed because he is ulting.

   Build Eclipse, Stridebreaker or BoTRK Go Eclipse for consistent power through mid game and damage mitigation with the shield. / Go Stridebreaker to cripple Nunu’s mobility and provide teammates with additional utility. / Go BoTRK to one shot and snowball with a damage focused build.

    Mid Game + Teamfighting Tips - When it comes to mid game, Nunu’s over gameplay won’t change. Nunu will always be trying to use his snowballs to roll towards the enemy team, eventually looking for the one shot he’s hoping to get. When playing into Nunu, make sure to always avoid his snowballs at all costs, or alternatively if you’re tanky enough, make sure to block incoming snowballs to save your team from any of his engages. When moving towards objectives within the mid game, it’s also important to always note where Nunu could be hiding, as if you’re not warding any objective territories, Nunu will use that to one shot with his R. Within teamfights, Nunu won’t be really able to do much without using his W or getting a good R position, so make sure to avoid those to really take away anything else he can do. If Nunu fails to use his W or R, he simply will be useless and you will be able to play the fight however you want.
