Detailed Tips

1. 01

   Respect Taric's Level 1 Cheese - Taric’s level 1 cheese is one of the most crazy and psychotic things I’ve seen. Taric can essentially cheese level 1 taking his E stun, then repeatedly auto attacking you down till it resets from his on hit passive. Taric can hard cheese most melee match ups in the game with this, so make sure to avoid fighting level 1 and play to hit your level 2/3 spikes.

   Play For Level 2/3 Kill Angle - Once you reach your level 2 and 3 powerspike, you’rte essentially able to start fighting Taric within the lane. One you chunk him out you're most likely able to kill him with your W, Dash or Flash up. Look to shove the wave around your kill timer, so you're able to make Taric lose a lot more.

   Respect Taric's E Spam - As previously mentioned, Taric’s E spam can be a decider factor for 1v1’s, so try not to stand toe to toe unless you’re able to reposition away from his E stun. If you miss the stun you’re more than likely to always win fights, so try and play for that and look to abuse its CD.

   Abuse Renekton's Early Game - In this match up Renekton is essentially able to do whatever he simply wants. With that said, really hone into your strong early to mid game strengths to help you dominate and win the game. Play to deny your enemy of gold and xp, play to proxy and generally lead any top side skirmishes with your insane lane advantage.

   Play Waves Accordingly - Simply assess whether or not you want to play for freeze, to help you deny XP and CS, while presenting yourself more opportunities to create fights. Or, play to shove waves to create proxy angles, tempo resets or create a dive opportunity. Renekton has all the cards to do whatever he wants with wave management. Also respect that if your laner tries to proxy, simply proxy back or coordinate a kill on them with your jungler.

   Heavy Trades - Being that Renekton carries a lot of high damage, Renekton is able to just jump on his target nearly at will. Whenever your laners present you with the ability to jump on them, simply take the opportunity to burst them as much as you can. If you didn't kill them already from that, use your options of freezing or your tower diving ability to help you finish off your opponent.

   3 Points Q > W Max - This playstyle allows you to easily deal with Taric, in the ability to perma stun lock him down within 1v1’s. This playstyle essentially makes it so Taric cannot do anything, which he already couldn’t do past level 1. So for more dueling and overall play potential in the side lane, you should abuse this as hard as you can.

   Respect Taric's R - Taric’s R is the only tool later on in the game you have to really play around, as his R is available to save and completely change all forms of teamfights if he gets the chance to use it properly. When playing against Taric, try to burn it out and either kill him or the targets fast enough before they use the ult, or simply disengage and burn it out before a major objective.

   Build Eclipse, Black Cleaver or BoTRK - Go Eclipse for consistent power through mid game and damage mitigation with the shield. / Go Black Cleaver for additional CDR and other versatile stats for utility based gameplay. / Go BoTRK to one shot and snowball with a damage focused build.

    Mid Game + Teamfighting Tips - Taric’s overall focus as a champion is to play around his strong carries using his abilities to sustain, stun or provide invulnerability. As Renekton, you should try to abuse your strong side laning potential to take all the towers you can against Taric, as he isn’t available to really provide any resistance against that. Within teamfights, as previously mentioned, playing around his R is vital in being able to win or lose. Trying to nuke his carries is very important before they get his R, otherwise depending on the champion, they will be able to hard 1v1 and create a lot of difficulties in trying to kill them. Simply play with the aim to use your full damage to kill his carries, so that his R loses all value in being able to win fights. Alternatively, playing to bait out R into a disengage is also just as good as you’re able to get a free ability within the threat of overtrading into his R.
