Detailed Tips

1. 01

   Respect Tryndamere’s Level 1 - Tryndamere level 1 is one of the scariest starts to a game you can play against as Renekton. Typically Renekton should try to play passive if Tryndamere gets to hit the wave first, but if you’re able to be there first you can posture to push for level 2 and try to defuse Tryndamere’s level 1 strength. Most typically however, you’re going to have to give Tryndamere push on the first 2 waves before you’re able to play. Try to keep your HP up and don’t greed vs his crit passive, just last hit with Q and short click in and out of the wave to bait out Tryndamere E.

   Respect Tryndamere passive - As Tryndamere gains crit based on his fury, it’s in your own interest to respect Trydamere’s passive within long extended fights or if he’s consistently attacking the minion wave.. Try to play for short trades and make him burn his fury bar by forcing him to use Q. Once tryndamere has no fury Renkton can easily zone off Tryndamere from the wave and stat check him in short to mid range trades.

   Play For Level 3 - Once Renekton reaches level 3 within the match up, Renekton is essentially able to fight Tryndamere consistently through his fast combos, and the ability to utilise empowered W’s and dashes to peel off Tryndamere from fighting against him. Use this point of the lane to start being more aggressive, looking to kill Tryndamere before his level 6 powerspike.

   Respect Tryndamere W - An underrated aspect about this match up is people trading too heavily into Tryndamere’s W. Tryndamere W lowers from 20AD > 80AD at rank 5, making it an incredibly heavy damage reduction that affects all of Renekton’s AD ratios. Make sure to avoid heavily trading into tryndamere W until it wears off. Sometimes however you will need to W tryndamere as soon as he dashes on you, in which you can try to get your damage off to chunk him, but if you have the option to wait it out then you most certainly should.

   Quick Trades - E > Q > AA > W > AA > E Out / E > Q > W > E / E Q E - These combos allow for Renekton to get quick damage off in being able to keep health up and whittling his opponent down, use these to get your laner low and look for a low HP kill with flash.

   Play Waves Accordingly - Play Waves Accordingly - Simply assess whether or not you want to play for freeze, to help you deny XP and CS, while presenting yourself more opportunities to create fights. Or, play to shove waves to create proxy angles, tempo resets or create a dive opportunity. Renekton has all the cards to do whatever he wants with wave management. Also respect that if your laner tries to proxy, simply proxy back or coordinate a kill on them with your jungler.

   Respect And Counter Tryndamere R - Tryndamere’s power that comes from winning most of his duels is usually rooted within his R. Tryndamere R is very strong in the fact he can live up to 5 additional seconds, on top of also filling out his fury bar to dish out as much crit damage as he possibly can onto his target. Renekton usually fulfills a great role in being able to easily burst Tryndamere to his R state, so essentially you want to burst him down then kite him out or tank the additional damage through your R until you can finish him off with your abilities or ignite at the end of his R. Make sure to space perfectly if you’re playing squishier builds, or utilise slow items such as Randiun’s to completely counter his crit damage and slow him from escaping.

   3 Points Q > W Max - Tryndamere gets completely hard countered within this match up as he is unable to duel Renekton if he goes W Max. W max’s utility from the amount of stuns you can receive is way too much for Tryndamere to handle, on top of the extreme amount of damage you can consistently apply onto Tryndamere. No matter if you’re stomping or behind, W max’s playstyle offers a great deterrent for Tryndamere to go for long trades, as your W’s 7-4 second CD is too low for Tryndamere to really deal with.

   Build Plated Steelcaps, Eclipse, Black Cleaver or BoTRK - Go Plated Steelcaps to lower her Tryndamere's overall damage and utilise the additional movement speed. / Go Eclipse for consistent power through mid game and damage mitigation with the shield. / Go Black Cleaver for additional CDR and other versatile stats for utility based gameplay. / Go BoTRK to one shot and snowball with a damage focused build.

    Mid Game + Teamfighting Tips - Tryndamere’s overall role within the game is to operate as a high pressure split pusher, whose aim is to bring his laner into being side laned with him. This playstyle is overall very annoying no matter if you’re fed or behind, as he completely locks you into being isolated in dealing with him. Renekton typically can fight Tryndamere if he has Eclipse and Randuin's at any point, however if your team is behind and you need to group for teamfights, try to swap another player from your team to lane against him. If no champion can simply survive vs him on your team, try to coordinate a group attack onto Tryndamere to get him out of the game to free up map pressure. In teamfights Tryndamere is generally useless, to which you can just consistently CC him from his engages and look to burst him as fast as you can within the fights. Just make sure to protect your carries and not ignore his engage onto them. .
