Ekko
Matchup Summary
Ekko is another easy and free style of match up for Renekton, as Ekko cannot reliably engage into Renekton without getting his HP nuked by his W. As Renekton, try to avoid taking his passive stack damage or try to look for trades right after Ekko jumps on you with his E. Ekko's only strength within the match up is trying to roam and look for kills on squisher team members. With that said, try to always ping Ekko's roams and look to abuse him for leaving the lane. Later on, Renekton can use his W and potential heavy AD builds to help him one shot Ekko before he's able to R, make sure to chain your W CC wisely with other CC in the game.
Detailed Tips

Level 1 Q or E Start - As mentioned through other notes, playing off Q and E both require different plays, however in this match up you can essentially do either of them and have pretty good success. With that said, play around the strengths of level 1 and look for a level 2 kill.

Play For Level 2/3 Kill Angle - Once you chunk out Ekko you're most likely able to kill him with your W, Dash or Flash up. Look to shove the wave around your kill timer, so you're able to make Ekko lose a lot more.

Respect Ekko’s Passive - Ekko's damage can be very impactful at all stages in the game, mainly due to his great ability to set up his combo using his Q > E > AA trade, or using his W to catch you off guard and easily apply his passive stacks onto you. When it comes to laning, Ekko will look to Q the wave with the aim of hitting you, with that said try to avoid walking into his Q and try to look for combos if he’s trying to engage you, or after his Q is on CD.

Respect Ekko’s W - Ekko’s W can allow him to make great picks against his opponents, as it allows him to easily assassinate and catch targets off guard. Keep in mind, Ekko’s W can also be used to help lock down his targets for his team, allowing the ability to easily shut down champions such as Renekton. When playing around Ekko W, try to play with vision and try to predict where he will throw it. As Renekton you can also use your E, or simply try to use your movement to avoid Ekko W. When it comes to fighting Ekko, try to hold your empowered W so you can instantly break his shield, doing this can also help you easily shut down Ekko within fights.

Abuse Renekton's Early Game - In this match up Renekton is essentially able to do whatever he simply wants. With that said, really hone into your strong early to mid game strengths to help you dominate and win the game. Play to deny your enemy of gold and xp, play to proxy and generally lead any top side skirmishes with your insane lane advantage.

Play Waves Accordingly - Simply assess whether or not you want to play for freeze, to help you deny XP and CS, while presenting yourself more opportunities to create fights. Or, play to shove waves to create proxy angles, tempo resets or create a dive opportunity. Renekton has all the cards to do whatever he wants with wave management. Also respect that if your laner tries to proxy, simply proxy back or coordinate a kill on them with your jungler.

Heavy Trades - Being that Renekton carries a lot of high damage, Renekton is able to just jump on his target nearly at will. Whenever your laners present you with the ability to jump on them, simply take the opportunity to burst them as much as you can. If you didn't kill them already from that, use your options of freezing or your tower diving ability to help you finish off your opponent.

Respect Ekko’s R - Ekko’s R is another ability that can completely blind side you if you’re not paying too much attention. Against Ekko, try to not stand within his R trail if you’re low, typically for the reason he can easily one shot you if you’re at that HP range. When fighting Ekko, most of the time as Renekton you want to try and burst him as fast as possible. This is pretty easily to do with how fast Renekton combos can be, so make sure you’re mechanically playing it well to completely counter his ability to R.

Build Eclipse, Black Cleaver or BoTRK - Go Eclipse for consistent power through mid game and damage mitigation with the shield. / Go Black Cleaver for additional CDR and other versatile stats for utility based gameplay. / Go BoTRK to one shot and snowball with a damage focused build.

Midgame + Teamfighting Tips - What makes Ekko a remote threat is his roam potential with W and his naturally high burst damage. With that said, try to ping out his whereabouts at all times to make sure you prevent him from cheesing free roam kills. Within teamfights, try to avoid stepping into his W, as any point of being hit by it can be absolutely devastating. Your general role can vary between trying to one shot his carries, or trying to peel your teammates from his engage combo. At any point within the fight where Ekko tries to utilise W or R, try to use empowered W to completely nuke his shield, or stun him before he gets low enough to use R.
