Fizz
Matchup Summary
Fizz cannot really do anything into Renekton, as Renekton can always reliably get his damage off before or after he uses his Q or E. Fizz's stats are simply too weak to deal with Renekton in 1v1 scenarios, instead forcing him to roam and play the role of killing squishier champions. As Renekton you want to make sure you always ping his whereabouts on the map, using that time to crash waves and make him miss gold and xp. Within teamfights, Renekton should try to protect his team by using his W on Fizz before or while he engages, providing Renekton the ability to always stiffle Fizz's role within the game.
Detailed Tips
- 01
Level 1 Q or E Start - As mentioned through other notes, playing off Q and E both require different plays, however in this match up you can essentially do either of them and have pretty good success. With that said, play around the strengths of level 1 and look for a level 2 kill.
- 02
Play For Level 2/3 Kill Angle - Once you chunk out Fizz you're most likely able to kill him with your W, Dash or Flash up. Look to shove the wave around your kill timer, so you're able to make Fizz lose a lot more.
- 03
Abuse Renekton's Early Game - In this match up Renekton is essentially able to do whatever he simply wants. With that said, really hone into your strong early to mid game strengths to help you dominate and win the game. Play to deny your enemy of gold and xp, play to proxy and generally lead any top side skirmishes with your insane lane advantage.
- 04
Play Waves Accordingly - Simply assess whether or not you want to play for freeze, to help you deny XP and CS, while presenting yourself more opportunities to create fights. Or, play to shove waves to create proxy angles, tempo resets or create a dive opportunity. Renekton has all the cards to do whatever he wants with wave management. Also respect that if your laner tries to proxy, simply proxy back or coordinate a kill on them with your jungler.
- 05
Heavy Trades - Being that Renekton carries a lot of high damage, Renekton is able to just jump on his target nearly at will. Whenever your laners present you with the ability to jump on them, simply take the opportunity to burst them as much as you can. If you didn't kill them already from that, use your options of freezing or your tower diving ability to help you finish off your opponent.
- 06
Abuse Fizz’s Long Early Cooldowns - Fizz early cooldowns are fairly long and easy to abuse. Any slight mistake from Fizz can be absolutely monstrous for Renekton to abuse. Try to bait his E by dashing into him, once he finishes his animation try to W him as soon as possible to obtain your burst onto him. Doing this will present Fizz with no opportunities to out damage.
- 07
Ping And Abuse Fizz Roams - Fizz's only win condition for this lane is simply to outroam and try to establish a lead from other kills on the map. Fizz is pretty excellent at this with his R and high mobility, so it's pretty important to always track his movement for your team so he is unable to obtain free kills. Try to punish Fizz’s roams by crashing in the wave, as well as taking plates and the incoming minion waves.
- 08
Respect Fizz R - While Renekton doesn't usually die to Fizz R, he can still cheese you with his Q > R combo, which can catch you off guard if you're low and set up a kill for himself. The important detail to recognise when this is happening is watching Fizz Q onto a minion to position himself into R'ing right from it, simply try to dash away and he will completely miss his R. Once he has no R he simply will have no kill threat unless you misplay.
- 09
Build Eclipse, Black Cleaver or BoTRK - Go Eclipse for consistent power through mid game and damage mitigation with the shield. / Go Black Cleaver for additional CDR and other versatile stats for utility based gameplay. / Go BoTRK to one shot and snowball with a damage focused build.

Midgame And Teamfighting Tips - Fizz's goal in mid to late game is essentially to pick off isolated targets with his assassin based playstyle. He does this by looking for E Flash plays, or landing a gigantic R to gain max value damage for his damage for solo kills or teamfights. Typically you're able to tank Fizz's R in a teamfight if you want to peel against him, this eats up the majority of Fizz's play options and leaves him in a useless position. Another thing to look out for is to try and stun him as soon as he dashes in, this then leads to him getting one shot by your own damage, or allowing your teammates to apply additional damage to kill him off.
